Ingleside Village Pizza wins 4th award

Ingleside Village Pizza has done it again.

So far this year the locally owned pizzeria in Macon has won the best pizza restaurant in The Telegraph’s Best of the Best contest, brought home the 11th Hour Readers’ Choice Award and won a Foodie Award by M Food & Culture magazine.

Now, it has been named the best pizza place by Relish magazine, a national monthly magazine devoted to food distributed monthly with the print edition of The Telegraph.

Ingleside Village Pizza is located at 2395 Ingleside Ave. and at 1635 Montpelier Ave.

Ingleside Village Pizza owner Tina Dickson said she saw a short paragraph in the May edition of Relish titled “Where’s the Best Pizza?” and posted a request on the restaurant’s Facebook page encouraging fans to vote.

“Drop in and give IVP a shout out!” she posted on the eatery’s Web page.Apparently, the restaurant’s fans paid attention.

The Relish posted this on its Web site: “...We asked you to vote for your favorite pizza place on our Facebook page, and you delivered! Oh, mama mia! Hundreds of delicious responses (and a little pizza smack talk) later, we’ve narrowed down your votes to the top three.”

The top finishers

Ingleside garnered first place and was named “the official Relish Facebook Fan Favorite.”

Second place went to Next Door Pizza in Lees Summit, Mo., and third place to The Original Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven, Conn.

Dickson opened the original IVP in 1992 in a building she leased across Ingleside Avenue from the current store which opened in early 2009.
