UPDATE: Child dies after being hit by pickup on Eisenhower Parkway

A 12-year-old Macon boy died this morning after he was hit by a pickup at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Eisenhower Parkway.

Shuntraveious Napier of Adams Avenue, was struck near C Street and suffered a fatal head injury.

A 19-year-old woman was driving northbound in a 1990 Ford Ranger when Napier tried to cross Eisenhower from Alphabet City, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

Police took the driver to the hospital to have her blood drawn for toxicology screening, the release stated.

Napier was pronounced dead at about 9:30 a.m. at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
