It's been awhile since the last Cool Kid's Tattered Shorts. So as the Staple Singers aptly and smoothly sang: Let's do it again.

Colleen McCullough's "First Man in Rome" was the first (of many, many) historical novels I've read about ancient Rome. It had a very long glossary of Latin terms used in the book. I flipped back to it often, trying to understand what was going on. Currently, I'm reading another historical novel about Rome titled "The Cyclops Case." It, too, has a long glossary. Haven't used it once. Now you know why I made diagonal As in college.
