CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

7 p.m. Sunday, Porter Auditorium, Wesleyan College. Wesleyan's Confucius Institute will celebrate the most important holiday in Chinese culture: New Year. Ring in the Year of the Monkey with a performance of traditional Chinese dances, songs and music. 478-757-5212. Free.

7-9 p.m. Thursday, 314 Second St. Come to Historic Macon's pop-up speakeasy and step back in time. Tickets include hors d'oeuvres and samples of five hand-crafted cocktails inspired by aspects of Macon's history. Space is limited. www.historicmacon.org. $50.
