What it's about: Thirteen-year-old Aaliyah Anderson lives in Willowsfield, Georgia, the most dangerous city in America. She writes about her life, the crazy happenings around the city and her path to success in a negative environment.

The author says: The book is set in the fictional city of Willowsfield, which is based off my adolescent experience in Macon. In the book, Aaliyah says, "Man, Willowsfield is so crazy that people in Atlanta and Macon talk about how out of control we are! If you look at a map, we're located directly in the middle of both of those cities."
