Prayer for Today (09/07/15)

Dear Father in heaven, in your word you teach me that the callings I have in life come from you. You gave me my vocations in the home and at work and among my neighbors. Therefore I believe even my most mundane duties are pleasing works in your sight. Grant that I may accomplish the tasks set before me as labor that is done for you. Since I have been baptized into Christ, help me fulfill my responsibilities not merely for personal gain but as your instrument for the good of others so that it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. I pray this in the name of him who loved me and gave his life for me. Amen.
