These Pet Parents Rated Their Bernese Mountain Dog's First Week at Home, and It's Hilarious

For some pet parents, the first week after adopting a new dog is all about cuddling the pup and being patient as they settle into their new home. For others, it goes a little bit more like Howie's first week. Howie is a Bernese mountain dog who just spent his first week in his new home, and it was so wildly chaotic you wouldn't forget he is new around here.

Between his sassy attitude and escape tricks, we think Howie is quite settled in the home. Although we are sure there was plenty more that happened during that first week, this is a small sign of what's to come with Howie. Based on his human's ratings, it looks like it can really only go up from here.

Howie didn't need an adjustment period when he entered his brand new home, but we do think his humans might need an adjustment period to Howie.

In his first week, Howie had his first cuddles with his dad, tried to escape from the vet, napped on the hardwood floor, hid under the bed, pulled his mom's sweater, fought with the gate, got a bath, and annoyed his new sister. Although some of these were ranked very poorly by Howie's parents, no one can deny he had a full and busy schedule for his first week.

While most pet parents could do without their dogs chewing on their sweaters and trying to escape from the vet and the playpen, we are sure that Howie's humans are glad to see the Bernese settled in so quickly at home. Howie even figured out his role as the younger sibling already.

Many in the comments sent Howie their well wishes, while others defended his actions and demanded a recount.

"All the best for this cute pup!" one user exclaimed.

Another Howie supporter added, "C'mon…all are beyond 10 out of 10 for this ridiculously cute floof!! Quite a charmer."

"I have a Bernese mountain dog tooo she's such an diva hahaha," another pet parent said.

We aren't sure that Howie is going to calm down anytime soon; at least these pet parents already know what to expect from here on out.
