This Free Trick Basically Doubles Your Freezer Space- And You Don't Have to Buy a Single Bin
As someone who struggles with limited space around the house, I'm always on the lookout for clever ways to make the most of the room that I do have.
That's why I'm impressed by one TikToker's smart way to add a little extra space inside her apartment freezer, which lets her store more food (potentially saving money by taking advantage of bulk deals). Best of all, it doesn't require you to purchase any storage bins or extra gadgets to pull this off.

The Trick That Triples Her Freezer Space
You can file @delllllyyy's hack under "ideas that are so simple I can't believe I didn't think of this on my own."
That's because she's found a way to triple the amount of space in her freezer by simply removing her cold storage items from their original boxes and storing them in the freezer without their outer packaging.
However, she doesn't toss the boxes once she takes everything out. Instead, she cuts off the instructions and stores them together in a kitchen drawer, where she can access them when she needs to check expiration dates or learn how to prepare the food.
The Internet Has Thoughts (and Ideas) on This One
I'm not the only one who has fallen in love with this simple idea. In less than a week, the post has garnered thousands of likes and over a hundred comments from fans of the genius idea.
"This is our generation's version of those boxes of handwritten recipe cards," one person wrote. "I love it."
Others had a few suggestions on how the TikToker could improve on her idea. "Go to Dollar Tree and get a photo album and insert them there," one person added.
Some other follower ideas included using magnets to secure the directions to the freezer door, snapping photos of the directions on your phone so you can throw the packaging away entirely, or using a dry-erase marker to write the details down on the freezer door.

The Real Payoff: Less Waste, More Savings
With groceries so expensive these days, I hate to throw any food away. This idea could also be a huge money-saver for busy families, especially if you store the packaging cards in order of the food's expiration dates.
This way, whenever you're looking for something to whip up for dinner, you'll already know which food is closest to its expiration date, keeping it on your radar so you can use it up before it goes bad.
