How to Get a Walk-in Beer Cooler for Your Backyard

This is the time of year everyone seems determined - or desperate - to beat the heat across the country.

One major brand is looking to help one lucky fan in July with a unique opportunity to be sure their backyard never runs out of cold beer again.

Check out the 'CoolShed'

On Tuesday morning, Natty Light unveiled the CoolShed, another effort to appeal to backward warriors devoted winning the battle against yard work (not to mention oppressive heat).

In this case, the tool is a shed that could go into your yard and provide more than just a cool-looking conversation piece providing free advertising for Natty Light.

It's actually a working walk-in cooler with an advanced temperature control system.

The interior is made of an insulating aluminum composite, and it has heavy-duty shelves that will hold thousands of cans of beer in 250 cubic feet of cooling space.

Not only that, it comes with high-capacity mono crystalline solar panels to prevent the thing from nuking your electric bill.

"Natty fans spend their summers mowing, fixing, building and grilling, and they've earned an ice-cold beer when the job is done," Krystyn Stowe, who heads marketing for Natural and Busch brands for Anheuser-Busch, said in a press release shared with Men's Journal. "Since the sun will already be heating things up, the CoolShed is going to put those rays to good use."

How to get a Natty Light CoolShed

Natty Light is giving away one CoolShed to a person (at least 21 years of age) in the United States in a sweepstakes running from July 14 through the end of the month.

To enter, visit NaturalLight.com/CoolShed.

Along with the shed, the winner will receive a "lifetime worth of beer money" via one prepaid card worth $15,531.60. That can be used to purchase two cases per month for 35 years (or 840 total cases based on current prices).

While the promotion is set to last for more than two weeks, those who act quickly will be rewarded as well: The first 500 fans to register will receive a prepaid $15 card that can be used for beers to drink while awaiting word on who wins the ultimate prize.

No purchase is necessary, but residents of Alabama, Arkansas, California, Maine, Texas and West Virginia are not eligible according to Natural Light.

Staying consistent

The CoolShed is reminiscent of two other Natty Light promotional pushes to get the attention of people who love their beer and are serious about yard work.

Last winter, they unveiled The Treadmower, a working treadmill built to recreate the look and feel of mowing the lawn no matter the time of year.

Next came Lawn Brew, a real fertilizer made from spent beer grains and other nutrients to feed lawns in the spring.
