A mom-of-three checking in on her twin two-year-old sons via their baby cam was greeted with the most unexpected of sights.

Taylor Dane from Nebraska told Newsweek her twin sons Briggs and Breck are “best friends.”

“My favorite thing about them is the way they always take care of each other,” she said. “No matter what, it's them against the world.”

Together, they've been known to get up to all kinds of mischief-especially at bedtime.

Bedtime can be a stressful process for parents with young kids.

In 2024, the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Health found roughly one in four parents found getting their child to bed difficult.

Though Dane already had some experience of these challenges with Briggs and Breck's older sister, the two boys have proved to be quite the handful as toddlers.

“We had to move them from their cribs because we caught them climbing out,” Dane said.

Getting the boys their own proper beds proved to be the start of a whole new era of shenanigans in the Dane household.

“When we moved them to big kid beds is when the real chaos started,” she said. “Every time I checked on them, they were in new predicaments.”

All of which led to the incident captured on the baby cam.

“This particular night, they had been asleep, but at like 10.45 p.m., I heard talking and pulled up their camera,” Dane said. “I couldn't believe it.”

Turning the camera on, Dane was greeted by an astonishing sight: Briggs and Breck had pulled out one of the drawers from the chest of drawers at the end of the bed and were sitting inside it, facing each other, deep in conversation. They weren't just chatting, though.

“They were sitting in that drawer, rubbing lotion on each other's feet,” Dane said.

Despite the late hour, the sheer absurdity of what she was seeing was not lost on Dane, who couldn't help but laugh. Eventually, she composed herself and dealt with the situation.

“I caught them,” she said. “I went in and put them back to bed against their will.”

That video was filmed four years ago. Briggs and Breck are now six. Though the boys are older, that doesn't mean they are any less of a handful.

“They're always up to something,” Dane said.

Despite the chaos, Dane feels it's important to share these moments and find a way to look back and laugh. “Motherhood is one of the hardest and most isolating experiences, so it's great being able to make moms laugh or not feel so alone.”
