This Woman Transformed Her Backyard with DIY Pavers - and Spent Less Than $600
Summer is on the horizon, so there's never been a perfect time to get some work done on your home, especially outdoors. For many DIY project lovers, the promised time is finally here.
More outdoor DIY project ideas have been showing up in my TikTok feed lately, and they make me think back to when our backyard was completely renovated many years ago. I was maybe 10 or 11 years old at the time, and I remember it taking a long time.
I also remember it costing my parents a pretty penny to redo the whole backyard. Though I can't recall the exact amount, I'm certain that it'd be even more expensive now, especially since some of our tiles are cracked. Yesterday, however, I came across one TikTok that blew me away.
TikTok creator @BRITTANYANNE has taken social media by storm with a cost breakdown for her DIY patio paving. She transforms a patch of lifeless grass into a gorgeous paver patio with just a few supplies from Home Depot.

Her video quickly garnered thousands of likes, and for good reason. Brittany and her crew make it easy for viewers to see how the patio was brought to life. What's even more impressive is that Brittany is undertaking this project while pregnant, which should serve as an inspiration to us all.
Bringing a Patio Back to Life with Just $585
In most cases, a patio revival costs at least $700, with some larger patios with expensive materials costing over $1000. However, with expert measurements and years of experience, Brittany was able to save quite a bit.
According to Brittany, the cost breakdown for her DIY paver patio from Home Depot was:
- Pavers: $190 (for a set of 144)
- Gravel tamper: $45
- Weed liner: $40
- Paver sand: $200
- Paver edging: $45
- 2x sand (for top of pavers): $65
This came out to a grand total of $585. Honestly? Being able to create a beautiful patio for under $600 was something I didn't think was possible. Yet somehow, Brittany pulled it off like a pro.
Brittany has hundreds of amazing videos just like this on her TikTok page, and with over 17,000 followers, it's clear that her audience is a big fan of her work.
One commenter said, "Now that you know how, can you come over and do it for me?"
It's safe to say that many homeowners will be following along with Brittany the next time they renovate their patios!
