The runway comes to Macon: See list of events for 1st Macon Fashion Week

The first-ever Macon Fashion Week is set to bring runway styles and unique cultural expression to the city in early November.

Presented by Macon Magazine in partnership with Wesleyan College, the weeklong event will run Nov. 2-8, according to a news release.

“MFW is a weeklong celebration of fashion, design, and cultural expression featuring daily events including workshops, panel discussions, interactive gatherings, and runway programs exhibiting the talent of local designers, boutiques, student creators, and Muscogee (Creek) Indigenous designers,” Susannah Cox Maddux, publisher of Macon Magazine, said in a news release. “With a focus on sustainability, education, and local creativity, MFW will unfold in various venues across the city, inviting all to experience fashion in bold, unexpected, and accessible ways.”

Schedule of events for Macon Fashion Week

  • Nov. 2: Macon Shades of Fashion, a Day Party, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 1410 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
  • Nov. 3: Young Designers Night, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tubman African American Museum
  • Nov. 4: Fashion: Past to Future, which will feature one virtual event at 12 p.m. and an in-person event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m, with location to be announced
  • Nov. 5: Responsible Runway, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wesleyan Leadership Lab
  • Nov. 6: Style/Power, which features two events. The Elevate Your Style Workshop is at 6 p.m. at Emerson at Plum, and Armor & Adornment is at Fall Line Brewing Co. at 7:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 7: Put it On: Local & Indigenous Collective, which features two events. The Bright City Photo Exhibition Debut is at 5 p.m. at Wesleyan Leadership Lab and Poplar Alley, and the Designer Runway Showcase is at 7:30 p.m. on the Poplar Street median
  • Nov. 8: Catwalk Closing and Shop With Dillard’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rosa Parks Square. A shop all day program and closing event will take place at Dillard’s, with 10% of proceeds donated to Macon Fashion Week

There also will be a boutique crawl and “style activations” throughout, according to Macon Fashion Week.

Getting tickets for Macon Fashion Week

The week of events is free for everyone, but VIP tickets can be purchased online for extra perks. That includes a VIP Signature Pass, a tote bag and t-shirt, access to a VIP area at the fashion week after-party, and more, according to Macon Fashion Week’s website.
