Donate or volunteer. Here’s how Macon residents can help Hurricane Milton, Helene victims

At least 14 people are dead and millions are without power after Hurricane Milton pummeled Florida. Many of the residents affected by Milton were still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Helene, which hit Florida only about two weeks prior.

If you are looking to help victims by donating supplies, food or by volunteering your time, here’s how you can do it from Macon and beyond.

Local ways to help

Several local churches are seeking supplies for hurricane victims. Here’s what to know:

  • Cornerstone Chapel is looking for shovels, wipes, hammers, ladders and duct tape

  • Central City Church is looking for diapers, hygiene products, cases of water and non-perishable food

  • Northway Church is asking for donations of water, Ensure, diapers, formula and cleaning supplies

Macon residents can also donate to local food banks that are donating food to victims. Middle Georgia Community Food Bank in Upson County, Monroe County and Jones County are actively looking for food donations.

Habitat for Humanity in Macon is also seeking donations for hurricane victims.
