Will Fourth of July holiday delay trash pickup in Macon? Here’s what to know

The Fourth of July is on a Thursday this year, so will trash pickup be delayed? Here’s what to know about Macon’s collection schedule:

Trash pickup services will not be available on July 4, 2024 in Macon. However, pickup services will be moved to either Friday, July 5, 2024 or Saturday, July 6, 2024.

“Residents normally serviced on Thursday will be collected on Friday, and those normally serviced on Friday will be collected on Saturday,” said a representative with Ryland Environmental.

There will be no changes to the regular collection days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Since the Fourth of July is a federal holiday, all city offices will be closed as well as most banks. Regular mail will also not run.
