AT&T customers in Georgia may be experiencing issues with their phone, including making calls, sending texts and using the internet.

The issues began early Thursday morning (Feb. 22) and have not been resolved yet.

Verizon and T-Mobile customers also reported some issues, but AT&T seems to be more widespread across the country.

So far in the last 24 hours, there have been more than 73,000 reported problems with AT&T’s service and more than 1,200 of those came from Atlanta, Georgia.

An alert message on AT&T’s website reads, “We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.”

There is a “down detector” website which shows exactly where user-reported issues currently are in a “heat map.” Other than Atlanta, cities such as Miami, Dallas and Houston are also experiencing issues with AT&T service.

How to set up Wi-Fi calling

To set up Wi-Fi calling, users can go to their Settings app on their phone. iPhone users should tap “Cellular” and Android users should click “Connection” and then users will be prompted to turn on the Wi-Fi calling feature.

AT&T says on its website that there is no extra cost for this feature. Once set up, Wi-Fi calling works automatically when you’re connected to a Wi-Fi that you choose.
