Planning a proposal on Valentine’s Day? The best spots to pop the question in Macon

Valentine’s Day is the most popular day for all wedding proposals, with more than 17% of proposals happening on the romantic holiday.

This far surpasses proposals made on Christmas Eve (10.3%), Christmas Day (9.1%) and New Year’s Eve (8.5%).

So, if you are planning a proposal this V-Day, you’re with the majority, but how will you do it? Or where?

Well, if you find yourself in the Macon area this Valentine’s Day, here are some of the best, most romantic spots in town to pop the question.

Hay House

Macon, Georgia’s Hay House is a National Historic Landmark and has been called one of America’s castles. The house has beautiful architecture, classic old romance vibes and the porch has the best views of downtown Macon. Cheers!

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church

This beautiful church is located in downtown Macon, has over 60 stained glass windows and some of the most stunning cathedral architecture. The marble stairs out front are the perfect place to get down on one knee.

Amerson River Park

If you want to pop the question in the presence of nature, Amerson River Park is a top choice. From its scenic trails to bridges overlooking the town’s river, there are plenty of secluded places to propose.

Lake Tobesofkee

Take a boat out on the lake and grab your Valentine for a proposal on the water. Lake Tobesofkee is one of Macon’s best spots for outdoor fun, from fishing, swimming, boating and picnicking.

Coleman Hill Park

Tattnall Square Park

Throw a coin into the fountain at Tattnall Square Park and make a wish. Maybe your Valentine will say “yes” to a proposal.

Grand Opera House

Music, history and wonder. The Grand Opera House has hosted some of the best performers and is the home of Macon’s annual Nutcracker ballet. If your love is a lover of the arts, this is the proposal place for you.

Wesleyan College Campus

Macon’s Wesleyan College has rolling hills, scenic trails and a heart-shaped pond. Take your significant other to the horse stables or visit Pierce Chapel to take in the floor to ceiling windows and sunlit sanctuary.
