What are the most Googled injuries in Georgia? This study just found the top 5
Got an injury? Google it.
Well, that’s what everyone else does.
In fact, the average person uses Google search between three and four times a day, so it isn’t uncommon to use Google for things like “best restaurants in the area” or “symptoms of the flu,” but a recent study has also found that people search for injuries quite often.
In the U.S., people search for shin splints, bursitis and carpal tunnel syndrome the most.
So, which injuries are specifically searched for most in Georgia? This study just found out.
Most Googled Injuries in Georgia
A recent study by Hutzler Law, a personal injury attorney, found the top five most Googled injuries in Georgia and here’s a little bit about them:
Shin Splints. Georgia’s number one Googled injury is shin splints, with 7,200 searches per month on average. Shin splints are usually caused by exercise (normally running) and can cause tenderness or pain along the inner side of your shinbone and mild swelling in your lower leg.
Bursitis. The injury symptoms include joint pain and swelling and can be caused by jobs that require prolonged pressure on joints or repetitive movements. This injury has more than 6,725 searches a month on average in Georgia.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Georgians search for this injury more than 6,625 times a month on average. Carpal tunnel syndrome is pressure on a nerve on the wrist that causes pain and numbness in the hand and fingers. According to the National Library of Medicine, Carpal tunnel surgical procedure is the most common wrist and hand surgery in the U.S., with more than 400,000 procedures per year, costing more than $2 billion a year.
Back Injury. At number four is back injury, with 6,442 searches per month on average. Nationwide, Georgians search for back injuries the most, followed by Kansas and Alabama. There are 6,442 searches a month on average.
Nasal Septum Deviation. This injury is in fifth place with 5,150 searches a month on average. The most common symptom of nasal septum deviation is trouble breathing through the nose. This is caused by the septum being displaced to one side and becoming crooked.
