In Georgia, every summer seems hotter than the last and this summer is no exception.

This week, Georgians will see temperatures rise into the 90s and stay there all week. We may see triple digits as early as next week.

Some afternoons, it is a must to stay indoors and away from the sun; but other days, the kids and adults want to venture out in the heat.

Here are some local places to take the family this summer and still stay cool out in the sun.

Forsyth Splash Pad

343 Country Club Dr.

Forsyth, Georgia 31029

This splash pad will entertain the kids all day and the best part is, it’s free and suitable for all ages. The splash pad is set up to resemble a fire station, so sound the alarm and watch the fire hoses soak everyone on the pad. Hours of operation are Sunday — Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

High Falls Water Park

4969 High Falls Rd

Jackson, Georgia 30233

There’s something for everyone at High Falls Water Park. Hang out at the pirate ship play area, swim in the family pool or prop up your feet and get some shade under an umbrella. Daily admission is $14 per person and hours of operation are Sunday 12-5 p.m. and Monday-Saturday 11-5 p.m.

Rigby’s Water World

2001 Karl Drive

Warner Robins, Georgia 31088

Paradise island, water slides and a lazy river — Rigby’s Water World is the place to beat the heat. There’s also a quieter place to swim (hideaway falls) and even a kiddie pool area for the little swimmers. General admission on the weekdays is $28.99 and on the weekends, it is $31.99. For more about hours of operation and dining options, please visit Rigby’s website.

Sandy Beach Water Park

6880 Moseley Dixon Rd

Macon, Georgia 31201

Macon’s water park has a body slide, wave pool, kiddie area and plenty of beach games. There’s also a splash pad slide tower, paradise pool and plenty of party pavilions to rent. The park is open Monday — Thursday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday — Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for adults is $10, children $7 and kids under 2 years of age are free.
