“Macon the Stage”

It’s the fourth year for the community-minded artistic exposition. Schedule: 1 p.m. in-depth mini professional seminar. 3-4:30 p.m. live presentation of artistic expression. 5:30 p.m. unveiling of a star for iconic blues legend Bessie Smith on the sidewalk in front of the Douglass, followed by a special reception and live performance by Macon vocalist Lachun “Chunnie” Brown singing and acting as Smith. 7 p.m. nine performances by various artists in the areas of spoken word poetry, song, comedy and dance, along with an awards presentation. Hay Day

Hay Days are a biannual events that are free and open to the public. This event will feature self guided tours of the house, and free crafts for children.
