Restaurant News & Reviews

One Chick-fil-A closes, another one opens and a new Wendy’s is coming to Middle Ga.

A popular fast-food restaurant served its last fried chicken sandwich from its location on Bloomfield Road in Macon on Saturday.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant at 3745 Bloomfield Road closed its doors June 13. The restaurant is located across the street from the Macon Mall, which has also seen many stores close.

The drive-thru only restaurant posted a sign on its window that encouraged people to use its other locations, including its stand alone restaurant on Eisenhower Parkway.

“It has been our pleasure to serve each and every customer at this restaurant for nearly 27 years,” read the sign.

The first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Byron, Georgia is scheduled to open on June 25, according to Chick-fil-A’s website.

In addition, a new Wendy’s is planning to open in Perry, Georgia.

Donaldson Enterprises, Inc., the local Wendy’s franchisee in Perry, announced Thursday its plans to open a second Wendy’s in Perry at 1811 Houston Lake Road, according to a news release.

The restaurant is planning to have a grand opening on June 22 at 10 a.m. to show off the new design that features self-ordering kiosk stations and a modern style dining room, according to the release.
