Warner Robins official inducted into hall of fame
Jim Elliott, the longtime city attorney of Warner Robins, is now a member of the Georgia Municipal Association’s hall of fame.
Elliott was inducted into the Municipal Government Hall of Fame on Monday at the association’s annual convention in Savannah.
He is the first Warner Robins official to be inducted into the hall.
According to a release, the hall “honors municipal officials who exemplify the best in public service, and who throughout their careers have made extraordinary contributions to their communities and Georgia’s cities.”
Elliott has worked as city attorney since 1985 and has served under eight mayors.
“During his 32-years of service, he has played a vital role in virtually every project, program and initiative completed in the city,” the release stated. “Current and past mayors and council members have long entrusted him with critical projects that contribute to the betterment of the city and its residents.”
The release also lauded his contributions to the association as frequent speaker at association events and “a popular instructor” at the Municipal Training Institute.
“He is a face many GMA members know and have come to trust,” the release stated.
He is currently a member of the association’s Legislative Policy Council and Federal Policy Council.
“Jim is always ready and willing to lend his expertise and insight to GMA and his fellow city attorneys,” GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton said in the release.
The Warner Robins City Council voted unanimously at its April 17 meeting to nominate Elliott for the hall of fame.
