Fort Valley State to offer new logistics degree
Fort Valley State University is offering a new major with implications in local business.
The recently-approved bachelor’s degree of business administration with a major in supply chain and logistics management is now available. According to a news release, the Georgia Department of Labor estimates that almost 4,300 jobs are available in logistics-related fields.
Specifically, Blue Bird Corporation in Fort Valley, as well as Robins Air Force Base, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Tractor Supply Chain and Frito Lay are all Middle Georgia companies that have “critical supply chain logistics components and needs,” according to the release.
The degree will be housed in the university’s Department of Business Administration and Economics and will be primarily available on the main Fort Valley campus. For details, contact Dr. Samuel Gyapong at 478-825-6271 or gyapongs@fvsu.edu.
