Houston schools receive Lifetime Giving Award
The Houston County school district and five of its schools have received a Lifetime Giving Award from the American Heart Association. Through the Jump Rope for Heart charitable giving event, the district has raised $1.4 million over a 16-year period.
The individual schools recognized were Perdue Elementary, Perdue Primary, Arthur Elementary, Bonaire Elementary and Lake Joy Primary. Houston schools Superintendent Mark Scott and the principals of the five schools accepted the award.
