Boyfriend charged with woman’s shooting death after breakup

Daniel Cornell Hall was the last person to see his girlfriend alive Sunday after the couple argued at their north Macon apartment, according to an arrest warrant.

He and Kendra Roberts lived together at Riverwalk Apartments, a complex on Riverside Drive between Bass Road and the Monroe County line.

Sometime early Sunday morning, Hall and Roberts decided to end their relationship, according to the warrant.

Hours later, a passing motorist found the 27-year-old Roberts dead along Riverside Drive. She’d been shot in the back, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office report.

About 11:30 a.m., two men — Hall and Roberts’ brother — approached a deputy who was standing near an area cordoned off by crime tape beside the road.

Roberts’ brother said his sister had been missing since about 7:30 a.m. Hall, whose hand was bandaged, admitted arguing with Roberts, according to the report.

Residents at the apartment complex confirmed that they’d heard arguing that started about 4:30 a.m. and lasted until about 7 a.m.

Hall, 22, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Sunday and is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond.

He was in Bibb County Magistrate Court Monday without a hired attorney at his side. He waived his right to have a commitment hearing, during which detectives must testify in court about why a particular person was arrested. Hall will be held without bond until a Superior Court judge considers his case.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call deputies at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
