Man charged with murder in east Macon stabbing
A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of another man early Saturday outside an east Macon residence.
David Brown is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Famous Bryant once in the chest, authorities said.
Bryant was found lying in the yard near his SUV about 4:50 a.m. by his aunt outside her Norris Street home, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.
Bryant and a friend had arrived at the residence to find Brown sleeping in a vehicle parked at the home, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Brown previously had been told several times to stay off the property, and Bryant confronted him and told him to leave, the release said.
“Brown pulled out a knife and began swinging it, stabbing Bryant,” the release said.
Brown was located a short time later on Boone Street, the release said. He was brought in for questioning and later charged in connection with the killing.
Brown appeared in court for the first time Saturday, only hours after the slaying of Bryant. During the brief hearing, a magistrate judge explained a list of rights afforded him.
The fatal stabbing marks Macon’s ninth homicide this year, Jones said.
