Authorities seek man accused of southwest Macon murder
A murder warrant has been issued for a 20-year-old man accused of killing a man Friday evening in southwest Macon, according to a news release.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating Hymetheus Malik Johnson, of Macon, for his alleged role in the fatal shooting of Jovante Passard. Passard was found shot multiple times in the front lawn of 852 Trade Wind Road just after 7 p.m. Friday night.
Johnson is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was seen leaving the scene in a 1999 green Honda Accord, the release said.
Passard was taken to a city hospital after being shot multiple times but later died, authorities said.
Crime scene tape was strung up around a house at 852 Trade Wind and three other homes there in the back of the Beaumont Heights subdivision off Williamson Road.
Investigators could be seen taking pictures near a grill in the front yard, near where Passard was found shot.
The neighborhood lies just south of Central Georgia Technical College, not far from the intersection of Bloomfield Drive.
Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Gonzalez said Passard didn’t live at the house where the shooting happened but was apparently there visiting friends.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Johnson is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
