Bandit threatens to set store clerk on fire, douses him with lighter fluid

An employee at a Macon game store was doused with lighter fluid Thursday by a man who threatened to set him on fire if he didn’t hand over money in the cash register.

The man walked inside the GameStop on Eisenhower Crossing shopping center on Presidential Parkway about 10:20 a.m., a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said. The employee handed over money and the bandit, dressed in all-black clothing with a blue toboggan cap, ran off.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
