Warner Robins woman guilty of fraud, spent $2.2K online at Ohio craft store

A 52-year-old woman who was the office manager for a Warner Robins surgical group pleaded guilty Tuesday after she was accused of using her employer’s card to buy more than $2,200 worth of merchandise online from a fabric and crafts store in the Midwest.

Maria E. Trenam, now of Cumming, is charged with wire fraud after she bought $2,289.79 worth of merchandise in March 2015 from Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts Store in Ohio using her employers company card, according to a news release from the office of the U.S. Attorney Middle District of Georgia.

Trenam, a former office manager for Surgical Associates of Warner Robins, was indicted in January on charges of that she embezzled more than $1.2 million from her former employer. Trenam made unauthorized cash withdrawals, used her business credit card at ATMs, wrote unauthorized checks to herself, increased her salary without authorization and purchased goods and services using her business card, the release said.

Sentencing for Trenam is set for Aug. 24.
