Woman shot dead at house party in Unionville; Another woman arrested on murder charge
A woman was shot to death early Saturday morning in Macon’s Unionville neighborhood, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.
Talesha Taylor was wounded about 3:45 a.m. at 808 Patton Ave., which is between Columbus and Anthony roads, just west of Interstate 75.
The 26-year-old had been at a house party when “someone began firing shots outside the residence,” according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Taylor was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
Jones said Taylor was shot at least once and there were “multiple shell casings at the scene.”
Tequilla Renee Brown, 25, was arrested in the incident and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. She is being held at the Bibb County jail.
“It was reported that Brown pulled out a gun and starting shooting outside the residence,” a Bibb County sheriff’s news release said. “Taylor was struck by the gunfire.”
Brown had fled the scene before deputies arrived, the release said.
Not counting four people who were killed in a case of vehicular homicide, this slaying makes Bibb County’s 19th homicide this year.
Anyone with information about the homicide is urged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
