Suspect in double homicide is captured near Washington Park

Authorities have caught a suspect in a double homicide after a two-hour search in downtown Macon.

Deputies spotted Dennis Penix, 24, just after 10 a.m. around the post office on College Street. He was soon captured near Washington Park, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The GBI and U.S. Marshals assisted in the search and capture.

Two men were found dead on Sandridge Church Road in Pulaski County just before 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. No details were immediately available about the cause of death.
