Armed robber grabs cash drawer in late night holdup
A man with a black T-shirt over his face robbed the Dollar General late Thursday night in west Macon.
Just before 10:15 p.m., the gunman pointed his weapon at the clerk and demanded money from the store at 5544 Thomaston Road, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The gunman grabbed the cash drawer and ran away.
He is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, who was wearing a black hoodie, grayish pants and blue and white tennis shoes.

Deputies are also investigating a reported armed robbery at the Shell gas station at 6440 Houston Road, which happened just before 2:30 a.m. Friday.
