Arrest made in Warner Robins shooting death

A Perry man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a 30-year-old man Friday in his Warner Robins home.

Voneric Chante Richardson, 22, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at the Days Inn Motel in Perry, Warner Robins police said. He is charged with felony murder and party to the crime of armed robbery, according to the arrest warrants.

The Houston County jail log and arrest and booking report for Richardson had different spellings of his first and middle names than Warner Robins police and the arrest warrants. The other spelling used was Von Eric Chiante Richardson.

Arrest warrants also have been issued for 20-year-olds Anighyah Zhalon Neal and Kadarius Latdravius Kendrick in connection with the killing, according to a Warner Robins police release.

Lance Adrian Williams’ body was discovered just before 2 p.m. inside his home at 604 Richmond Hill Parkway, just west of U.S. 41 and north of Gunn Road, after police were called there about a suspicious person.

A back window had been busted, and a window screen was lying nearby on the grass. A neighbor told The Telegraph that a man was running through the yard and leaping over fences. The man jumped into a late-’90s-model maroon Mercury Sable with two other men.

The accused shooter was identified only as “Neal” in arrest warrants for Richardson.

“The accused (Richardson) admitted he drove the co-defendants to the victim’s residence, where co-defendant Neal shot and killed the victim,” according to one of the arrest warrants. “The accused (Richardson) also admitted he picked up the co-defendant, Neal, after the shooting and drove co-defendant Neal to Perry and dropped him off.”

Richardson is being held in the Houston County jail without bond. He was booked into the jail at 6:28 p.m. Saturday, according to jail records.

Dexter Smith, a friend of Williams’ who was at the scene Friday evening, said Williams lived with him and his family.

“He was just a good friend to all of us,” Smith said.

He said Williams, who went by the nickname “Goat,” had attended Perry High School and was working at the Blue Bird plant in Fort Valley.

Smith also said Williams was known to carry large amounts of cash.

Telegraph writer Laura Corley contributed to this report.
