Robins announces 2019 air show featuring Thunderbirds
Robins Air Force Base is having an air show in 2019, with the Air Force Thunderbirds to be the featured attraction.
A base release issued Monday states that the Thunderbirds' schedule includes a stop at Robins Sept. 28-29, 2019.
Next year the base planning committee will begin preparing for the event. The show, held about every three or four years, is free and open to the public. It usually draws approximately 200,000 people if the weather is good. The last one was held in 2016.
“We are excited to have the Thunderbirds come back to Robins and look forward to hosting audiences here for a spectacular weekend,” Col. Lyle Drew, 78th Air Base Wing commander, said in the release.
