Peach County Sgt. Patrick Sondron funeral procession to stop traffic in Warner Robins
As Peach County sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Sondron is carried to his final resting place, Watson Boulevard will be partially closed to traffic Thursday.
From 11 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m., the thoroughfare will be blocked as dozens of law enforcement vehicles are expected to leave the funeral, according to a statement from the Warner Robins Police Department. The funeral begins at 10 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church.
Vehicles will leave the church and head north on Houston Lake Road, east on Watson Boulevard and south on Pleasant Hill Road before arriving at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Watson Boulevard will be closed from Houston Lake to Pleasant Hill Road.
The large procession is expected to cause traffic delays along the corridor through Warner Robins.
A procession is also planned from the Peach County Sheriff's Office to the funeral.
Sondron and deputy Daryl Smallwood were fatally wounded Sunday in a confrontation with Ralph Stanley Elrod, who’d had a dispute with a neighbor.
