Warner Robins police were working the streets Monday afternoon, looking for information and witnesses in a fatal shooting Sunday night in the Hudson Heights neighborhood.

Neighbors in the 100 block of Ruth Court heard several shots about 10:30 p.m. Shortly afterward, 31-year-old Willie Huff was found outside his 2007 GMC Yukon with several gunshot wounds, according to a police report.

Huff was pronounced dead at Houston County Medical Center.

Two women, ages 33 and 34, were in the area at the time of the shooting and were interviewed by police. However, Maj. John Wagner said Monday afternoon that police haven’t taken any suspects into custody.

“We’re out there scouring for information, but we really don’t have anything else on it,” Wagner said. “I wish we had somebody in custody, but not yet.”

Dee Ryburn, a retired college administrator who has lived on the block for nearly two decades, said she heard about four gunshots while lying in bed Sunday night.

“I just heard the noise, the shots and then the sirens,” Ryburn said. “It happened in the street, I think.”

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Detective Justin Clark at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
