Proposed Macon-Bibb County flag features cherry blossoms
Macon-Bibb County could have an official flag featuring the area’s signature tree.
The proposed flag says “Macon-Bibb County, Georgia” with the theme “The Heart of Georgia” and also displays a picture of cherry blossoms. Outlined by ten gold stars, emblazoned on the flag is “Est. 2014” — marking the year when Macon and Bibb County consolidated.
Macon is home to the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival that celebrates the several hundred thousand cherry trees located in the city.
The flag will likely be presented Tuesday to a Macon-Bibb County Commission committee for a vote.
