The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity has named Ivey Hall as its new executive director.

Hall fills the vacancy created by Harold Tessendorf’s departure in April to join the Savannah Habitat office.

Before the appointment, Hall was director of volunteer services with Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia in Macon.

“We are delighted to have Ivey lead our affiliate,” board President Linda Brennan said in a release. “She has a unique combination of strengths and insights to take Macon Area Habitat to an even greater level of impact in our community.”

Hall has more than a decade of volunteer management, fundraising and community development experience with nonprofit groups. She studied marketing at Florida State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University. She also is a graduate of Leadership Macon.

Hall’s community involvement and service includes serving as a sustainer for the Junior League of Macon and a Sunday School class leader and teacher at Vineville United Methodist Church. She was a founding member of the Goodwill Industries International Volunteer Services Advisory Council and has served as vice president of the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity board of directors.

Hall’s husband, Travis, is an attorney with Chambless, Higdon, Richardson, Katz & Griggs in Macon. They have three children: Jon Emory, 7, Siler, 4, and Isabel, 6 months.
