Filming in Macon of "Brockmire" will begin soon.

Carpenters and construction equipment were on location Monday at Luther Williams Field, inside Macon’s Central City Park.

Workers said they were there primarily to help convert the field into Morristown Stadium, home to the fictional Morristown Frackers, a minor league team set in Pennsylvania.

A casting call seeking “males and females of all ethnicities” over the age of 18 was on the Macon Film Commission Facebook page Monday. Dates on the post were for June 30, July 1, July 8, and July 11 and asked specifically for “baseball fans.”

Workers on site said that other filming for the show may be coming as early as Wednesday.

“Brockmire” follows the fictional story of Jim Brockmire, a former major league baseball announcer who has an on-air meltdown after learning of his wife’s marital affair. Brockmire loses his job and, years later, tries to resurrect his career in a small town with a struggling minor league baseball team.

The series stars Hank Azaria as Jim Brockmire.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the network Brockmire will be on. It is IFC.
