Looking for good sites across Middle Georgia for Christmas lights? Here are some of the best, contributed by readers:
The Whittemore residence, 2017 Cutler Court. Lights are choreographed to music and broadcast via low power FM 87.9. Lights and music displayed every evening (except in rain) seven days a week from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
3341 Victory Lane. Off Joycliff Road. Turn onto Confederate Drive and go all the way down and make your first left, then make your first left onto Champion Drive and then make a left onto Victory Lane.
2460 Wesleyan Drive North. From the south, exit Interstate 75 at exit 171. Turn north onto Riverside Drive. Go about one mile until you see a sign on your left for Wesleyan Drive North. Turn left and go about a quarter mile and display will be on your left.
3204 Marlies Circle. One block south of intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Williamson Road and one block north of Intersection of Newburg and Pio Nono avenues.
The Hoffmann residence, 1551 Tobesofkee Point Drive. From Interstate 475, take exit 5 (Thomaston Road exit). Head away from Macon and travel past the Food Lion. Go through interchange and turn left onto Mosley Dixon Road. Go down Mosley Dixon until you come to a “Y” in the road. Keep right. Go past the Claystone Park entrance to Lake Tobesofkee and past the Fish and Pig restaurant. Travel past Sandy Beach entrance to the lake. Tobesofkee Point Drive is the next road on the right. Display covers more than 2 acres and requires five people to put up.
The Bryan residence, 209 Arrowhead Trail. Turn on Tyree Drive from Russell Parkway (Next to Brown’s Eye Center). Go to stop sign next to fire station and turn right. Stay on Chestnut Drive and go to second stop and turn right. It is the fifth house on left.
The Fodor residence, 115 Woodlawn Ave. Turn onto Elberta Road from Ga. 247. At the second light, take the fork to the left to Northside Drive. Northside dead ends into Green Street, the high school will be on the left. Turn right onto Green Street. There will be an immediate traffic light again. Turn left onto Holly Street. Woodlawn is the first cross street; turn right. Their home is the fourth house on the left. Uses only clear and blue lights, which are programmed to music.
The Allen residence, 108 Rolling Ridge Drive. From the main Carter Woods West subdivision entrance on Hatcher Road (just off Leverette Road), go to the four-way stop sign and take a left. Fifth house on the right. Display includes Christmas shadow boxes, one depicting the first Christmas with a stable scene and shepherds in a field and the other box showing a church and houses with Santa and his reindeer flying overhead. House is trimmed with colored lights with the Nativity scene in the front and several reindeer (including Rudolph) and a sleigh full of presents in the yard.
The Floyd residence, 109 Fieldstone Road. From Ga. 247, turn right onto Elberta Road, turn right onto Story Road, turn right onto Dunbar Road, take the first left onto Carl Vinson Parkway, take the second right onto Fieldstone Road. From Interstate 75, take exit 149. Turn onto Ga. 49 north. Turn right onto U.S. 41 south. Turn left onto Dunbar Road. Turn right at Carl Vinson Parkway. Take the second right onto Fieldstone Road. The Floyds have two 12-foot Christmas trees in the frontyard, a Nativity scene and lights on the house, among other decorations. Santa will be giving out candy canes from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 19-23.
The Taylor residence, 412 Eagles Landing Trail. Turn into the Eagles Landing subdivision, where Elberta Road and Carl Vinson Parkway come together.
The Campbell residence, 114 Cohen Court. Located off of Russell Parkway. Turn directly across from Ruby Tuesdays and go down Marvin Boulevard all the way to the end and then round the corner and it turns into Cohen Court. The display includes inflatables and many lights
Cul-de-sac in the Carlton Ridge subdivision. Carlton Ridge is located on U.S. 41 between Russell Parkway and Ga. 96. Display on Loudon Hill Drive.
823 Ball St. In downtown Perry, turn off of Main Street (U.S. 341) onto Ball Street (street runs down the side of the New Perry Hotel). Go past Walker, Hulbert, Gray & Byrd Law Firm, past Three Kings Corp. office, and one or two more houses and this house of lights will be on your right.
The Hill residence, 431 W. Seminole Drive. Take exit 149 off of Interstate 75, Go east on Ga. 49, turn left on East Seminole Drive and left onto West Seminole Drive. Go around the curve and down the hill. House is on the left. Big display of colored lights, Nativity scene, several inflatables, music.
The Borah residence, 1255 John E. Sullivan Road. From Interstate 75, take the Warner Robins/Centerville exit. Go west (away from Warner Robins) for one mile. Turn left on John E. Sullivan Road (Phillips Tire Co. is on the left). Display is the first house on the right. Some display highlights: a 50 foot magnolia tree with 15,000-plus lights; dancing lights on three 15-foot fir trees; hand-painted Santa, sleigh, reindeer, singers, Santa train and Nativity scene.
The Bridges residence, 75 Edgewater Court. Take Watson Boulevard West/Ga. 247 Connector across Ga. 49 to the dead end at Moseley Road. Take a left on Moseley Road. Stay on Moseley Road for about three miles. Edgewater is on the left. Take a left into the neighborhood and a right onto Edgewater Court. House is on the left. Inflatables, plastics, lights, motion displays and more.
501 Green Settlement Road, Gray. Follow Gray Highway to about half a mile inside the city limits of Gray. Take a left onto Green Settlement Road at Old Clinton BBQ. Stay on Gray Settlement Road for two miles; display on the left. Thousands of lights including a Mega Tree that dances to Christmas music. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there Dec. 18-20.
The Lee residence, 129 Kenan Drive Northwest, Milledgeville. Take U.S. 441 North from the bypass at the Milledgeville Mall. Head out of town on 441. Kenan is the first left after Log Cabin Road. (If you see Lake Sinclair, you have gone too far.) The house is the second one on the right, just past the first island in the road. There is a second island shortly after the house that makes for a good turn-around. Lights turned off no later than 9 p.m. At least 20,000 lights in display, which includes lights in dogwood trees, lighted reindeer and a candy cane arch.
3143 Old Tidwell Road, Lizella. From U.S. 80/Eisenhower Parkway, take a right onto Tidwell Road. Take a left onto Columbus Road, go past Arrowhead Park entrance and take a right onto Old Tidwell. Yard full of various inflatables.
