Tropical Storm Irma topples steeple of Warner Robins church

Tropical Storm Irma damaged the roof and toppled the steeple of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Monday.

“Thank you for your prayers and concerns,” the church posted on its Facebook page. “Union Grove leaders and trustees are aware of the damage to the roof and steeple of the church.”

Church trustees have reviewed the damage and are working with a roofing company to resolve the issue after the storm passes, the post said.

Members were urged to stay posted about updates on worship services and to stay inside their residences.

Warner Robins is under a curfew until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Warner Robins police snapped a photo of damage to the church and posted it on Instagram.
