600 free solar eclipse glasses up for grabs at Ocmulgee National Monument viewing
The Ocmulgee National Monument is set to give away 600 solar eclipse glasses for visitors who come watch the celestial phenomenon among the mounds Monday.
“We’ll make sure we have some on hand for anyone who comes out here to the park to watch,” park Superintendent Jim David said. But “we’re not going to be giving them away ahead of time.”
Beginning at 12 p.m. Monday, a drive-through station will be set up in the Visitor Center parking lot. Guests will be given one pair of glasses per person in each car until all 600 pairs have been given out, according to Ocmulgee National Monument representative Sarah Reynolds.
Attendees should meet on top of the Great Temple Mound at 2:15 p.m.
