Student news: Stratford students test creative thinking skills at world competition

▪  Stratford Academy’s fifth-grade Odyssey of the Mind team went to the world finals last month at Michigan State University. Team members included Emerson Toles, Chandler Fleming, Callie Evans, Amal Mansoor, Mary Lois Mitchell, Evan Bogle and Ella Reaves. The coaches were Heather and Rob Evans and Charlotte and Brian Bogle.

▪  Miracle Scott, a Houston County Career Academy student and Perry High School junior, was named the 2017 champion in the career profile portfolio category at the SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference earlier this spring.

▪  Six Houston County upperclass students have been selected for the 2017 Governor’s Honors Program: Daniela Morales and Keerti Soundappan, from Houston County High; Heather Floden, Northside High; Anna Brown and Benjamin Price, Veterans High; and Scott Cummings, Warner Robins High.
