Coffee with a Warner Robins cop set for July 12

There will be no agendas or speeches when Warner Robins police officers meet for coffee next month.

The July 12 “coffee with a cop” event, set for 8-10 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A on Ga. 96, will be “a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood,” according to a flier from the department.

The department began the initiative in 2014. The gatherings are held at different locations across the city, and they’re sometimes themed. Before Christmas, for example, officers pass along tips to stay safe during the holidays.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice. Law enforcement agencies across the midstate hold similar events to try to make community connections.
