Free defensive driving course targets Middle Georgia teens
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in America.
The risk of crashing is higher among ages 16-19 than among any other age group, according to according to the Centers for Disease Control.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is set to offer free defensive driving classes in July.
In the classes, open to ages 16-20, students will get help making good decisions at the wheel and learn how to avoid distractions, according to a Monday news release from the sheriff’s office.
The four-day training is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates: July 10-13, 17-20 and 24-27.
The first two days of each class will be held at 2525 Pionono Ave., Suite 110, and the final two days will be held at 110 Confederate Way.
The classes are limited to 30 to 35 people. Breakfast and lunch are included at no cost. A valid driver’s license is required.
