It’s nearing time to celebrate Georgia’s peaches with a ginormous peach cobbler.

That’s right, the 2017 Georgia Peach Festival in Byron and Fort Valley is about to get underway.

But you’ll have to wait until next Saturday, June 9, to sample some of that warm, juicy delight.

The festival officially gets underway this Saturday in Byron with arts and crafts, food, concerts and fireworks.

But to keep those mouths watering for what’s coming, ever wonder just what goes into that monster cobbler that’s 11 by 5 feet and 8 inches deep?

Here’s a list of the ingredients from the Georgia Peach Festival website:

▪ 90 pounds of butter

▪ 150 pounds of sugar

▪ 150 pounds of flower

▪ 32 gallons of milk

▪ 75 gallons of peaches

The festival moves next weekend to Fort Valley with a host of activities. The cobbler eating is at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Peach County Courthouse.
