Missing Springdale Elementary student found safe

A 10-year-old who went missing from recess Friday at Springdale Elementary School was found safe several hours later.

James Venditto, a fourth-grader at Springdale Elementary in Macon, left the school’s playground and ran into the woods around 1:15 p.m.

He was found unharmed about 5:30 p.m. at a fire station next to the school on Northside Drive.
