‘The Originals’ vampires to shut down Macon streets
Two downtown Macon streets will be closed part of this week while crews film a TV show, according to a news release.
Beginning Tuesday and Wednesday morning, the filming of the CW television series “The Originals” will shut down sections of Georgia Avenue and Mulberry Street Lane. The TV show, which has shot scenes at the Hay House and Grand Opera House, is a spin-off of the “Vampire Diaries.”
Below are details on the road closures.
The inbound lane of Georgia Avenue between Orange and Spring streets will be closed to traffic at the following dates and times.
▪ 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday
▪ 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday
▪ 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 6-11 p.m. Thursday
▪ 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday
Mulberry Street Lane between Second Street and Third Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on the following dates and times. Pedestrians will be able to get to businesses and homes during the filming day.

▪ 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday
