Overturned fuel tanker shuts down Russell Parkway

Russell Parkway was blocked in both directions Monday afternoon after a fuel tanker overturned near the ramps leading to and from Ga. 247.

Warner Robins Police Department public information officer Jennifer Parson said vehicles were detouring at Wellborn and Booth roads as Russell Parkway was closed in both directions.

No one was hurt in the accident, and no other vehicles were involved, Parson noted on the department’s blog.

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
