Man found shot dead in a house Friday night

A man was found dead in a house Friday night at 1633 Woodrow Place just off Mercer University Drive.

Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley said his office was called to the house about 8:45 p.m.

“He appears to be in his early 20s,” but the man had not been identified, Miley said about 10 p.m. “We don’t know why he was at this location.”

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office task force was on the scene and investigating the matter.

“Details are still sketchy,” he said.
