Fund set up for families of slain Peach deputies
As the families of two fallen Peach County deputies prepare to lay them to rest, a fund has been set up for their survivors.
Sgt. Patrick Sondron and Daryl Smallwood were gunned down Sunday night while responding to a dispute among neighbors on Hardison Road in Byron.
The Byron Police Department announced that a benefit fund has been set up for the Sondron and Smallwood families.
Those wishing to contribute should visit CB&T bank branches in Byron, Fort Valley, Warner Robins or Perry and speak to a teller about the Patrick Sondron and Daryl Smallwood fund.
Hundreds of people gathered in Byron Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil to honor the men who died in the line of duty.
